2 private bedrooms available in a 4BR Jamaica Plain apartment - starting 9/1/2026

2 private bedrooms available in a 4BR Jamaica Plain apartment - starting 9/1/2026

RENT & LEASE
• Each room is $1,200/month + utilities (gas, electric, internet), split four ways.
• Year-long lease from 9/1/2026 through 8/31/2027.
• First and...
last month's rent + a security deposit equal to one month's rent due at move-in.
• The landlord runs a quick background check before roommates are confirmed.

THE APARTMENT & AMENITIES
• Spacious 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom apartment. Three bathrooms for four people means there's rarely a wait - you'd share two of them with two other roommates.
• Free, in-unit washer and dryer.
• Central heating and AC (not window units).
• Off-street parking in the driveway directly in front of the apartment.
• Plenty of storage in a large basement - bikes, luggage, seasonal stuff, etc.
• Friendly, responsive landlord who takes care of maintenance promptly.

LOCATION
• Located on a quiet, private road, just off Centre Street in JP.
• Short, easy commute to the Harvard Longwood Campus / Longwood Medical Area.
• Close to the Arnold Arboretum, the original JP Licks, and plenty of restaurants, cafes, and shops.
• ~2-minute walk to the 39 bus, ~10-minute walk to the Orange Line.
• ~5-minute walk to Jamaica Pond and the Emerald Necklace path, and very close to the Southwest Corridor bike path.

WHO YOU'D BE LIVING WITH
• Right now it's two of us, both working professionals in academic research (late 20s and 30s). We're in the process of filling another open room, so the apartment will be a household of four.
• We keep fairly full schedules and are usually out of the apartment working during the day.
• Home is more of a quiet place to recharge than a social hub - we're friendly, say hi, and catch up now and then, but everyone generally does their own thing and has their own life.
• We keep shared spaces tidy day to day (dishes done same day, counters wiped down, nothing left out) and split light chores like trash and vacuuming naturally.
• Weeknights are pretty mellow, and when someone has friends over, it's low-key rather than a regular thing, so the place tends to feel calm and uncrowded.

YOU'D BE A GREAT FIT HERE IF...
• You're a young professional or grad student with a regular schedule outside the apartment - lab, clinic, office, campus, etc.
• You'll reliably pay rent and utilities on time.
• You like a quiet, low-key home, rather than a party house.
• You're comfortable with a warm-but-independent roommate dynamic: friendly, occasional chats, but no pressure to hang out a lot.
• You like having a peaceful home base to come back to, tend to do your socializing and hobbies mostly outside the apartment, and appreciate clean, uncluttered common spaces.

IF THIS SOUNDS LIKE A FIT...
If you're seriously interested and this matches what you're looking for, send me a message and tell me a little about yourself. It really helps if you can cover:

1. A bit about you - what you do and where, and whether you're mostly out at a lab/office/campus or working from home.

2. Your rhythm at home - roughly what hours you're around on weekdays and weekends, how much you cook and use the kitchen, and whether you tend to spend time in your room or in common areas.

3. Noise, guests, and roommate vibe - how quiet or loud you consider yourself, how often you have people over and what that usually looks like, and what your ideal roommate dynamic is (doing your own thing with friendly check-ins vs. hanging out together often, etc.).

4. Timing - your ideal move-in date, how long you're looking to stay, and anything else you'd like us to know.

I know that's a lot to ask up front. It's not meant to be a barrier, it just saves everyone a lot of back-and-forth and helps us figure out quickly whether it'd be a good fit on both sides, so I'll prioritize responding to messages that include these details. If you're seeing this post, the room is still available.

We're hoping to find the right person soon since the lease starts 9/1. Please send me a message here if you're interested so we can set up a time to see the place this week or next.
