We have a very nice bedroom available for rent in a 2-story upper duplex 2 blocks from the Porter Square subway stop in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This is a long-time family home and you will have a shared living space with full access to kitchen, ... semi-private bathroom facilities and a lovely tree-shaded back porch. Share the space with a freelance animator (who mostly stays on the third floor with his own bathroom), a family therapist and retired Presbyterian minister who come to visit for a few days every so often, and a very friendly cat named Dante. In order to be happy at this place you do need to like cats! :-)

Heat, hot water, gas, electricity, laundry (on same level) and internet provided by the Landlord. There is a fully stocked kitchen, and all linens are provided. The bedroom has a good-sized closet, two bookshelves and a bureau. There is a cleaning person who comes monthly which is also included in the rent.

Occupant-at-will agreement (either as a month-to-month lease or as a full-semester agreement), background check, and two letters of character reference required. One month security/goodwill deposit also required. We are looking for a good fit because this will be an excellent temporary living arrangement for the right person.

Rent is $1350/month. This includes everything. No extra fees will be charged for utilities. Tenant will be responsible for cleaning up kitchen promptly after use, taking out garbage and recycling every other day or as needed, and being tidy in general in the shared spaces. Tenant may be asked to feed the cat at times as needed, or cat-sit for some time period as agreed upon.

There is no smoking in the apartment nor anywhere on the premises. No other pets, overnight guests or parties, please. There is no off-street parking available, but rapid transit, as noted above, is very close by.
