Furnished two-room studio suitable for single occupant: spacious fully-equipped eat-in kitchen, sunny combination sitting room/bedroom, and full bath (stall shower), on very quiet street. Very convenient to Harvard's Cambridge and Allston campuses.... Located at 7 Washburn Street, one block off Mt. Auburn St., near Common Street, on sunny corner. Bus stop (#71 bus to Harvard Square) is one block away; #70 to Allston/Central Square and other bus lines also close by. Near to bike path, shops, restaurants, very walkable. Apt. has its own separate entrance on Washburn Street and is on the first floor of an 1887 Victorian-style private house (house address is 40 Otis Street). There are four steps up to the apartment door from street level. An off-street parking space adjacent to the unit is included. Completely furnished; dishes and kitchen equipment, curtains, linens, bedding and towels all included. Sitting room has full-sized bed, dresser, loveseat, armchair, desk, TV, file cabinet, two closets. Kitchen has stacked washer-dryer and gas cookstove with oven, microwave, toaster-oven, vacuum cleaner, iron and ironing board, other appliances; full-size refrigerator, table and chairs, cupboards. Generous closet space. Ceiling fans in both rooms; a window a/c unit is also available at no extra charge. Electricity, hot water, and cooking gas are included in rent. Heat (gas furnace) is an added monthly charge. Landlord will forward monthly bill from National Grid; recent average has been $60/mo. during heat season. Tenant controls thermostat. WiFi and hard-wired data jack available. Owners (retired couple) live in main house (has separate entrance). Quiet non-smokers only, please; no pets. Available from mid-August on, Full academic year commitment expected (i.e., Sept. to May or June). Not available for summer only or short-term. Ideal for one person seeking a quiet and convenient temporary home and work/study space.
