Live-in Counselor (Room/Board included)

Join our community-oriented transitional living program as a Live-In Mentor Volunteer, and support adults as they navigate mental health challenges and work towards independence and self-sufficiency.

Our home is a social, communal space where...
residents and volunteer staff enjoy meals and conversations and share responsibility for household chores and preparing dinners.
In exchange for your volunteer services, you will receive a private room, meals, and utilities in our Central Square, Cambridge location—just a 5-minute walk to the Red Line.

Responsibilities:
* Cover two evening shifts per week on Wednesday and Friday from 6PM - 11PM plus sleeping overnight (facilitate community socializing and house chores).
* Provide weekly one-on-one counseling sessions with 1-3 residents focusing on setting and achieving goals.
* Attend three weekly meetings (house, staff, and supervision).

Ideal Candidate:
* Compassionate and community-minded.
* Eager to support residents in a friendly, communal environment.
* Strong boundaries and problem-solving skills.
* At ease rolling with a changing environment.

Note:
* This is a non-clinical position; no mental health experience is required, but is helpful to have.
* College degree not require.
* A one-year commitment is preferred.
* No pets allowed.

About Us:
We are a non-profit organization providing transitional living support to adults with mental health challenges. Our residents are high-functioning, receive effective treatment, and engage in daily activities such as work, school, or volunteering.
